Flood Watch in effect for northern Oklahoma Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Norman has placed Alfalfa, Garfield, Grant, Kay, Major, Noble and Payne counties in northern Oklahoma under a Flood Watch until this evening. Also, The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a Flood Watch for Osage and Pawnee counties until this evening.

Flooding of creeks and rivers, and flooding of low lying areas are possible Wednesday. Areas of northern Oklahoma could see 2 to 3 inches of rainfall with thunderstorms making their way through, some spots could see higher amounts.

The local communities included in the Flood Watch are Cherokee, Helena, Carmen, Medford, Pond Creek, Lamont, Wakita, Ponca City, Blackwell, Fairview, Enid, Perry, Stillwater, Pawhuska and Pawnee.

 

Do not drive in flooded areas.
