The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Flood Warning for the Salt Fork Arkansas River at Tonkawa until Friday evening.
At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, the river was at 17.1 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is in the forecast. The flood stage of the Salt Fork Arkansas River is 17 feet, and will likely crest at around 17.6 feet early Friday morning.
At 18.0 feet…Flood overflows are about a foot deep over unleveed agricultural lands…oilfields…and rural roads along the river in eastern Grant County…through Kay County…to the confluence with the Arkansas River below Ponca City.
