Flood Advisory continues for Salt Fork Arkansas River near Tonkawa

A Flood Advisory continues for the Salt Fork Arkansas River near Tonkawa until Wednesday afternoon.

At 8:30 p.m. CST Tuesday evening, the river stage was at 14.1 feet. Action stage is 14 feet and flood stage is 17 feet.

The Salt Fork Arkansas River is expected to fall back down to 8.5 feet Sunday evening.

At 15.0 feet, within bank flows move along the river from eastern Grant County, across Kay County and to the confluence with the Arkansas River below Ponca City. Some low-lying oilfields may be isolated.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
