Ponca City News is reporting that candidates for municipal offices in Braman, Kaw City, Newkirk and Tonkawa can file for Declarations of Candidacy starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, February 1.
The filing period will be open until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3. Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the Kay County Election Board Office in Newkirk for these following offices:
Braman
- Trustee No. 2: 4-Year Term
- Trustee No. 2: 4-Year Term
- Trustee No. 4: 4-Year Term
- Trustee No. 5: 4-Year Term
- Treasurer: 4-Year Term
Kaw City
- Councilmember Ward 1: 4-Year Term
- Councilmember Ward 3: 4-Year Term
Newkirk
- Mayor: 3-Year Term
Tonkawa
- Councilmember Ward 1: 4-Year Term
- Councilmember Ward 2: 4-Year Term
The municipal offices at stake in Braman, Kaw City, Newkirk and Tonkawa will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election on April 6.
If a Run-off Election is needed for the City of Newkirk, it will be held on September 14.
