Filing begins Dec. 7 for Tonkawa board seat

If you wish to file for office one on the Tonkawa Board of Education, you can do so Dec. 7-9.

Tonkawa News reports that filing will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the given days at the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk.

The seat that is currently held by Mary Allan will become vacant.

Other news from the Tonkawa Board of Education include the approval of expenses totaling $379,125.13 with $75,517 from the general fund, $50 from fund 22 and $303,558.13 from bond fund 34. Approved the resident teacher committee which includes Reagann Murphy by Kaitlyn Anderson, Kelly Martin and Terri Guthrie. Approved the annual dropout report. Superintendent Lori Simpson and Tonkawa schools had one dropout last school year.
