Duncan man injured in Wednesday morning accident near Nash

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that one man was injured in a single vehicle accident Wednesday morning in southwestern Grant County.

The accident happened at around 10:10 a.m. on State Highway 132 at Comanche Road, about 5 miles southeast of Nash. Christopher Wayne Wilkinson, 46, of Duncan was driving a Freightliner box truck southbound on SH-132 when he went left of the center, over-corrected, traveled off the right side of the highway before attempting to come back on and rolled one-quarter of a time before coming to a rest on the driver’s side.

Nash Fire Department was able to get Wilkinson out of the vehicle by using the jaws of life, which took nearly 20 minutes. According to the Duncan Banner, Wilkinson was sent to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with trunk internal and arm injuries.

OHP, Nash Fire Department, Pond Creek Fire Department, Pond Creek EMS, Miller EMS4-21 and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office all worked the accident.
