NEWKIRK – Candidates for municipal office of Commissioner Number 1 of the City of Newkirk file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2020.
Cheryl Howard, Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office 201 S. Main St., Newkirk, for the indicated office. The Election Board Office remains open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day of the filing period.
The municipal office at stake in Newkirk will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled April 7, 2020. A runoff election, if required, will be held on June 30, 2020.
