The Blackwell Robotics Team had a successful weekend as after winning the Robotics Skills Award with 33 points and becoming number 1 in the state of Oklahoma. According to the Blackwell Journal Tribune, there were 36 teams in total that competed for one last shot at VEX State. Three out of the four Blackwell teams made the finals for the teamwork challenge. When all was said and done, Blackwell finished first again with another team from Tahlequah with 25 total points. The Elementary Maroons also won the Judges award, which is based on an interview. They were picked over elementary and middle school teams.
At the end of the weekend, all four teams qualified for the State Tournament that will be on March 9th in Tahlequah.
