Blackwell Public Schools postpones upcoming events after assistant football coach tests positive for COVID-19

Shawn Haskins of Blackwell Public Schools shared an update on Wednesday morning after an assistant coach for the Blackwell High School football team tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. (See story)

After visiting with the state epidemiologist and state health department officials, Blackwell Public Schools will be postponing all extra curricular activities for the next two weeks. This also includes the prom.

The well being of the students of BPS will be at the center of all decision making.BPS is aware that postponing the prom is going to cause issues with some, but the health and safety of their students comes first.

Blackwell Public Schools will be announcing an alternate date for the prom in the next few days.
