A personal injury collision happened at 8:51 p.m. Saturday evening on L.A. Cann, 154 ft. north of E. Prospect east of Ponca City.
John Suggs, 48, of Blackwell was driving a 2010 Chevy Silverado westbound on E. Prospect where he attempted to negotiate a right turn onto L.A. Cann. Suggs failed to negotiate the turn and departed the roadway to the left, leaving the roadway and striking a tree on the driver’s side of the vehicle before coming to a rest on the roadside.
Suggs was transported by Ponca City EMS to Alliance Health Ponca city and later transferred to Weasley Medical Center in Wichita, Ks. He was admitted in monitored but stable condition with injuries to the head, legs, and trunk internal.
The OHP report shows that Suggs was alcohol impaired.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Chris Vaughan #832 of Troop K. Assisted by Ponca City Fire and EMS, Kay County Sherriffs office and Ponca City Lake Patrol Unit.
