KFOR-TV out of Oklahoma City announced that a Blackwell man has been arrested after he allegedly sent inappropriate messages to an undercover investigator.

The officials say that 36-year-old Daniel Winterhalter thought that at the time he was talking to a 14-year-old girl from Canadian County (Central Oklahoma) through social media, but he was actually messaging an undercover investigator that was posing as a teenager.

Authorities say that the investigation began in October 2018 when Winterhalter began messaging the teenager. And according to the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office, Winterhalter’s conversation became sexual as he asked the 14-year-old girl to send nude pictures to him and told the undercover investigator that he was wanting to have sex with her.

The Canadian County officials said that the conversations continued to be sexual as Winterhalter sent various pictures of himself and talking about oral and sex fetishes.

Recently on Friday, February 8, Blackwell Police arrested Winterhalter on a Canadian County Sheriff’s Office arrest warrant for soliciting sex with a minor by use of technology. On Tuesday, he was transported to the Canadian County Jail in El Reno from the Kay County Jail in Newkirk and was booked for the same charges.
