The number of COVID-19 cases for Oklahoma took another big jump on Monday, July 7, as the Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 434 new positive COVID-19 cases. This puts the state’s overall total of cases to 16,362 since the start of the pandemic, and 3,930 cases are active.
For new cases in local counties, Payne County has 12, Noble County with seven, three in Garfield and Washington counties, two for Logan County and one for Kay and Osage counties.
For active cases in local communities, Stillwater has 86 active cases, Ponca City with 21, Bartlesville has 10, 18 for Enid, Guthrie with 12, six in Cleveland, Perry with four, Red Rock at three, two each for Fairfax and Hominy. Blackwell, Mulhaull, Orlando, Newkirk, Pawhuska, and Morrison each have one case. There are no active cases in Pawnee and Tonkawa.
One virus-related death was documented Monday, putting Oklahoma’s death toll at 399. OSDH also reports that 186 more individuals in the state have recovered from COVID-19, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total at 12,432.
As of last Thursday, July 2, health officials report that there have been 338,511 negative specimens, 1,615 total hospitalizations and 368 people currently hospitalized.
