The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 2,699 new positive COVID-19 cases for Monday, Jan. 4. Oklahoma’s seen 306,711 COVID-19 cases overall as 36,646 cases are active.
Five virus-related deaths were documented on Monday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 2,552. Those five being a Cherokee County female, a Custer County ,ale, a Garfield County male, a Garvin County male and an Oklahoma County male that were all in the 65 or older age group.
Kay County saw an increase with 15 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county at 3,524 cases, 34 deaths and 2,964 recoveries. Data for Kay County communities is posted below:

As for new COVID-19 cases in local counties, there are 40 for Washington, 36 for Osage, 29 for Logan, 28 for Payne, 27 for Garfield, nine for Pawnee, three for Grant and two for Noble. Complete data for local counties can be seen below:

OSDH also reported 2,280 new recoveries for Monday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 267,573. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Health officials report that as of Thursday, Dec. 31, there have been 2,394,318 total negative test results, 17,493 hospitalizations and 1,910 people currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
