The Oklahoma State Department of Health documented 2,361 new COVID-19 cases for Thursday, September 23.
According to the situation report, Oklahoma’s now seen 603,161 COVID-19 cases overall as 15,293 cases are active. The New Cases 7 Day Average is 1,887 and the CDC Provisional Death Count is 10,025.
According to the latest data from Wednesday, September 22, Kay County has seen an overall total of 6,656 COVID-19 cases, 145 deaths and 6,343 recoveries. While Kay County has 168 active COVID-19 cases, this is 78 less active cases compared to one week ago.
If you’re needing to get tested for COVID-19, the Kay County Health Department has COVID-19 testing available by appointment only at the Ponca City clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Make an appointment by calling 580-762-1641. COVID-19 testing is NOT available at the Blackwell clinic.

As for the COVID-19 vaccine, a total of 4,056,358 doses have been administered. This includes 2,206,383 Oklahomans receiving at least one dose and 1,842,711 Oklahomans that are fully vaccinated.
