The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,551 new positive COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, Nov. 17. Oklahoma’s seen 158,408 COVID-19 cases overall as 28,807 cases are active.
Six virus-related deaths were reported to bring Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,544. None of the deaths were in local counties.
Kay County saw an increase with 18 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county’s stats to 1,307 COVID-19 cases, 20 deaths and 1,009 recoveries. As for the 278 active cases within Kay County, there are 173 for Ponca City, 43 for Blackwell, 35 for Newkirk, 33 for Tonkawa, four for Kaw City and one for Braman. OSDH is also reporting 1,895 new recoveries for Tuesday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 128,057. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Latest information from health officials as of Tuesday shows that 1,692,611 test results in Oklahoma have returned negative. There have been 10,481 total hospitalizations and 1,381 individuals were currently hospitalized as of Tuesday.
