The Oklahoma State Department of Health documented 1,369 new COVID-19 cases for Monday, Aug. 2.
In the situation report for Monday, OSDH reports that 1,627 is the new 7-day rolling average for the number of new cases. Oklahoma has seen 486,232 COVID-19 cases as 14,283 cases are active. The provisional death count is at 8,746.
The last update shows that Kay County has seen 5,475 COVID-19 cases, 128 deaths and 5,271 recoveries. Therefor, Kay County last reported 76 active COVID-19 cases.

PONCA CITY – 4,006 COVID-19 cases/84 deaths/3,865 recoveries
BLACKWELL – 699 COVID-19 cases/28 deaths/663 recoveries
NEWKIRK – 458 COVID-19 cases/6 deaths/446 recoveries
TONKAWA – 382 COVID-19 cases/15 deaths/366 recoveries
KAW CITY – 67 COVID-19 cases/3 deaths/61 recoveries
BRAMAN – 25 COVID-19 cases/1 death/24 recoveries
As COVID-19 cases are on the rise due to the Delta variant, hospitals such as Stillwater Medical Center are at full capacity with their beds. SMC shared to their Facebook page on Monday that all 64 beds, including the one for E.R., are occupied. SMC also shared that staffing is continuing to be extremely difficult. As for the COVID-19 vaccine, a total of 3,422,699 doses have been administered. This includes 1,869,510 Oklahomans receiving the first dose and 1,582,479 Oklahomans that are fully vaccinated.
