The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,194 new COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, Dec. 29. Oklahoma’s seen 283,781 COVID-19 cases overall as 32,628 cases are active.
A total of 22 virus-related deaths were documented for Tuesday, bringing Oklahoma’s death toll to 2,405. One death being a Kay County resident from Tonkawa, and another being a Garfield County resident.
Kay County saw an increase with five new COVID-19 cases, putting the county at 3,159 COVID-19 cases, 31 deaths and 2,666 recoveries. There are around 462 active COVID-19 cases for Kay County, and data for local communities is posted below.

As for new COVID-19 cases in local counties, there are 10 for Payne, nine each for Logan and Washington, five for Osage and three for Garfield.

The amount of new recoveries reported for Tuesday more than doubled the amount of new COVID-19 cases. OSDH is reporting 4,072 new recoveries as Oklahoma has seen 248,748 recoveries overall. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
As of Thursday, Dec. 24, health officials report that there have been 2,314,672 negative test results, 16,289 total hospitalizations and 1,729 Oklahomans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
