Ponca City Public Schools is proud to announce that it will host the 2025 Region C Circle the State With Song Festival on January 31, 2025. The event will culminate in a concert at 5:30 PM at the Ponca City Schools Concert Hall. Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to attend. The festival will include 190 students from schools in Osage, Pawnee, Lincoln, Payne, Kay, and Noble counties.
Circle the State With Song, sponsored by the Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OkMEA), provides exceptional music students from grades 4-8 with an exciting choral experience. Participants will work with guest clinicians on challenging music and perform alongside peers from across their region. This year’s festival will feature Dr. Karsten Longhurst (OCU) as conductor and Dr. Eduardo Moreira (NWOSU) as accompanist.
The program, which began in 1989, aims to foster musical excellence by offering students opportunities to perform high-quality choral repertoire and collaborate with expert clinicians. It also serves as a professional development opportunity for music educators to observe and share vocal pedagogy techniques. Each year, thousands of students across Oklahoma participate in this inspiring event, which highlights the importance of music education in schools.
