OKLAHOMA CITY –
Six suspects are behind bars, and nearly 3000 pounds of marijuana were seized in what the state attorney general calls an illegal shipping scheme bust. Authorities say Sheng Qu, Hou Run Liu, Jie Yu, Tingting Liang, and Deping Sun obtained the drugs from an illegal grow operation and used several unwitting commercial freight companies to ship the marijuana from a warehouse in Oklahoma City.
The AG’s Organized Crime Task Force seized 2,840 pounds of processed marijuana along with a stolen M4-style rifle.
Attorney General Gentner Drummond praised the work of law enforcement. “I appreciate the collaborative work of my Organized Crime Task Force to support the Oklahoma City Police Department in tracking down this illicit operation and putting a stop to its massive drug trafficking scheme,” Drummond said.
Investigators say the suspects received packages of illegal marijuana, hiding it inside furniture boxes, building wooden crates, and placing the marijuana-stuffed boxes into the crates. The suspects then allegedly arranged for freight trucking companies to deliver the crates outside of Oklahoma.
