Phillips 66 has donated $50,000 to the Ponca City Police Department to support the purchase of upgraded radio equipment, ensuring enhanced communication capabilities for officers in the field. The investment in new technology will improve response times, officer safety, and overall public safety for the Ponca City community. A formal check presentation was made at the department recently by leadership members from the Phillips 66 Ponca City Refinery.
“We are committed to supporting the brave men and women who protect our community every day”, said Carl Perkins, General Manager. “Effective communication is critical in emergency situations, and we are proud to contribute to the department’s efforts to enhance public safety.”
The funding will enable the police department to replace outdated radios with state-of-the-art equipment, providing officers with clearer transmissions, expanded coverage, and improved interoperability with other emergency services.
Richard Evans, Chief of the Ponca City Police Department, expressed gratitude for the donation. “This generous contribution from Phillips 66 allows us to upgrade essential communication tools that help keep our officers and community safe. We appreciate their commitment to public safety and their ongoing partnership with law enforcement.”
The new radio equipment is expected to be fully implemented within the next six months.
