The Northern Oklahoma Humane Society’s Board of Directors announces with a heavy heart that Karlissa Archibeque will be resigning from her position as Executive Director, effective March 28, 2025. While saddened to see Karlissa leave, they are profoundly grateful for her significant contributions to our organization and the animals they serve.
Karlissa spearheaded the formation of the Fix-A-Feral TNR program, which has successfully spayed/neutered 1,148 cats since its inception in 2020. When the program began, Ponca City Animal Control had an 11% live release rate for cats. Thanks to Karlissa’s dedication and hard work, the city now maintains a 100% live release rate for cats, a remarkable achievement.
In addition to her work with TNR, Karlissa played a key role in organizing successful events, such as the Mutt Gala, and set a high bar for our foster program. Through her personal commitment, Karlissa has fostered over 100 animals, including many litters of kittens and puppies, demonstrating the compassion that defines our mission.
NOHS extends a heartfelt thanks to Karlissa for her unwavering commitment to NOKHS and wish her the very best in her future endeavors. Her legacy will continue to inspire us.
The Northern Oklahoma Humane Society will continue to uphold the mandate of providing a safe and caring environment for the animals in our care. The Board has begun the search for a new Executive Director, confident they will find a qualified and capable leader who will continue to build on the organization’s strong foundation and successful trajectory.
