Oklahoma City, OK — Rep. Ken Luttrell, R-Ponca City, announced that several communities in House District 37 will receive funding through the Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) program for infrastructure improvements and public safety projects.
“These grants, totaling over $425,000, are important to our district and rural Oklahoma,” Luttrell said. “They provide much-needed funding for projects that many local communities would struggle to complete on their own. This is a great example of taxpayer dollars being reinvested directly into the communities that need them most.”
The REAP Grant Program assists smaller communities with limited financial resources. Priority is given to municipalities with fewer than 1,750 residents, school districts with fewer than 525 students and rural water or sewer districts with fewer than 525 non-pasture taps.
This year’s funding will support key projects across the district. The Osage Cove Fire Department will receive $54,800 for concrete and electrical work on a new fire apparatus building. The Greyhorse Indian Village Fire Department has been awarded $60,000 to purchase a brush fire truck, while Braden Rural Water District 3 will use $60,000 to replace outdated water pumps. The Town of Fairfax will receive $102,120 to resurface 16 blocks of city streets and Osage County District 1 will use $150,000 to chip and seal more than seven miles of rural roads. The total grant amount is $426,920.
