Hunter Biden’s finances have hit dire straits, according to his latest court filing submitted.

The document, filed in Biden’s laptop hacking lawsuit against a former Trump aide, asks a district court judge to dismiss the case due to his lack of necessary financial resources. Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, said his income has “decreased significantly” since late 2023.

Most significantly impacting his pocketbook, Biden testified, are his floundering art sales.

“In the 2 to 3 years prior to December 2023, I sold 27 pieces for art at an average price of $54,481.48, but since then I have only sold 1 piece of art for $36,000,” he wrote in the document.

Biden also said his book sales have seen a similar tumble, falling from 3,161 sales per month to just 1,100 in a six-month period.

This lack of resources, he said, was made worse by the California wildfires. Biden’s rental property in the path of the fires was made “unlivable for an extended period of time” and has made it difficult for him to secure new permanent housing.

“While I was aware that my financial position had significantly deteriorated over time, it was not until the past month that I realized I had to take drastic actions to alleviate this situation,” Biden wrote in the filing. “Then, during the week of February 24, 2025, I was informed of all the work that was going to be performed over the next two months and the estimated amount of fees and costs and over the weekend of March 1-2, 2025, I decided to voluntarily dismiss this action.”

Dismissing the case, Biden added, is “necessary so I can focus my time and resources dealing with my relocation, the damage I and my family have incurred due to the Pacific Palisades fires, and paying for my family’s living expenses as opposed to this litigation.”

The lawsuit accused former Trump administration aide Garrett Ziegler of illegally accessing and circulating the damning contents of his laptop, which included photos illustrating Biden’s life while in the throes of addiction.

Hunter notably received a preemptive pardon in the final days of his father’s administration, sparking outrage considering the president’s previous claims that he would not do so. Former President Biden also shielded his brother James Biden and four other family members, claiming they would be targeted by the Trump administration.
