A reception to honor Mayor Nicholson will be held on February 24, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in the Commission Chamber of City Hall.
Nicholson has served as Ponca City’s longest running Mayor for 18 years and decided not to run for a seventh term.
In his years on the Ponca City Board of Commissioners, he served with 17 different Commissioners, received numerous awards, and served on over 25 boards and committees in Ponca City and around the State.
Mayor Nicholson will be handing over the gavel to Kelsey Wagner on March 1, 2025. Wagner was elected Mayor of Ponca City on February 11, 2025.
The swearing-in ceremony for Wagner will follow Mayor Nicholson’s reception; it will take place during the February 24, 2025 City Commission meeting, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Commission Chamber.
