Early voting will be held at the Kay County Election Board (basement of the Kay County Courthouse) June 23-25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
June 28 is Primary Election Day with Aug. 23 as the Primary Run-Off Day.
Both local legislators drew opponents. There will be a Ponca Politics Candidate Forum on Friday, June 24 at noon at City Hall. The forum will be live-streamed on the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
State legislators in Republican Primaries include incumbent Rep. Ken Luttrell and opponent Joe Vaden and incumbent Senator Bill Coleman and opponent Emily De Lozier.
Other primary races include the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Voting for this will be the Republican party only as Jena Nelson, Democrat, did not have an opponent and will advance to the General Election. Republicans filing to run for State Superintendent include John Cox, William Crozier, April Grace and Ryan Walter.
A Democrat and Republican Primary for the Office of Governor will also be held. Natalie Bruno, Libertarian, and Ervin Yin, Independent, will advance to the General Election.
Democrats running for Governor include Joy Hofmeister and Constance Johnson. Republicans running include incumbent Kevin Stitt and Joel Kintsel.
