Many local Veteran’s Day events will be held tomorrow as we honor the many who have served. That includes Blackwell’s Veteran’s Day Parade tomorrow at 11, followed by a free community bean feed at VFW Post 28-55 at 1006 West Ferguson.
Parade line-up will start at 10:30 at Main & Dewey.The parade marshal will be retired Sgt. Sean Ingram. Ingram spent 20 years in the U.S. Army National Guard from May 1995 to October 2015.
Blackwell has been designated a “Purple Heart City”, a community that honors and remembers military personnel who have been wounded or killed in combat.
Newkirk’s VFW Auxiliary 1201 will be holding a Veterans Day bean feed for veterans and families on Friday from 11 ’til 1 at First Christian Church at 9th and Walnut.
