Attorney General Gentner Drummond warned businesses that the Emergency Price Stabilization Act will go into effect after the governor’s declaration of a State of Emergency.

The Emergency Price Stabilization Act will prohibit businesses from increasing the price of goods and services by more than 10 percent.

Governor Kevin Stitt declared a State of Emergency for twelve counties Saturday morning following the devastating fires.

“Oklahoma consumers reeling from the wildfires can be assured they will be protected from unfair price hikes and fraud,” said Drummond.

According to Drummond, more than 130 wildfires were reported across Oklahoma during the windstorm Friday.
