A new multi-screen movie theatre is coming to the region. The Enid Mayor and Board of Commissioners approved a deal worth 3.8 million dollars to S&K Cinema Holdings Group to bring a nine screen movie theatre to town, including Imax capability, duckpin bowling, an arcade and virtual reality.
The Enid News & Eagle reports that the package includes a 1.5 million dollar loan to New Mexico based S&K with 2.3 Million dollars in cash incentives.
Several years ago Ponca City’s only theatre, operated by the AMC movie chain, closed permanently. Local options remain the 2 screen theatre at the Hub in Tonkawa and the 8 screen Cowley Cinema just north of Ark City.
