The Northern Oklahoma College Mavs and Lady Mavs swept Western in conference road games Monday at Altus.
The Lady Mavs (2-4) were 98-69 winners while the 7th ranked Mavs (7-0) were 97-60 winners over the Pioneers.
Lady Mavs 98, Western 69
Gavriel Myers and Mia Brown combined for 50 points as the Lady Mavs remained perfect in Region 2 play with a 98-69 win over Western Monday night.
NOC (2-4) improved to 2-0 in OCAC play.
“I thought we did a good job playing hard through a first half battle,” said coach Greg Krause. “We started finding our momentum midway through the third quarter and shot well for the remainder of the game. It’s good to get back to playing games again.”
Myers had 30 points including six 3-pointers to lead the Lady Mavs while Brown added 20 points. Delaney Reimer added 16 points while Radina Zhivachka added 11 rebounds. Brown had eight rebounds and eight assists.
NOC hosts Eastern at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and NOC Enid on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Mavs 97, Western 60
The 7th ranked NOC Mavs had little trouble with Western, winning 97-60 at Altus Monday night.
NOC (7-0) is 2-0 in conference play.
The Mavs five double figure scorers led by Tyrel Morgan with 20 and JD Ray and Avante Lederer adding 16 each. Deondre Alexander had 12 and Nate Goodlow 11.
Morgan had 10 rebounds while Ray had seven assists and five steals.
“It’s always good to come out of Altus with a road win,” said coach Donnie Jackson. “It’s a long trip, they are a good opponent who are well coached and it takes a while to get your legs under you.”
“Western came out ready to play,” Jackson said. “It was a back and forth game during the first half. You could tell both teams were excited to play after the long layoff due to weather. We made our run a few minutes into the second half. Once we got the pace going, it opened up the floor and created some good opportunities.”
Jackson was pleased with the Mavs’ freshmen.
“Some freshman really played well. DJ Alexander was a great spark. Nate Goodlow shot well for us. Dylan (McLean) played with some toughness. If they can get consistent, they will be a huge help for us.”
“We will have a three game in five-day stretch coming up starting Thursday. Eastern is a very dangerous opponent. They play fast and shoot a lot of 3’s. They have good guard play and a big who was a D1 commit at one time. We will need to guard better.”
