The Northern Oklahoma College Mavs Baseball Team split a road doubleheader with Pratt (KS) Tuesday afternoon.
The 3rd ranked Mavs (4-2) won the opener 6-2 and dropped the second game 13-12.
In Game 1, the Mavs led 3-2 heading into the final inning, then Geo Blackshaw’s three run home run gave the Mavs the insurance they needed for the 6-2 win.
Blackshaw also added a single for the Mavs, Bryant Bailey added three hits and two runs batted in for NOC.
David Carr picked up the win from the Mavs’ bullpen pitching two innings of relief. Jacob Ellis was the starter with relief help from Zach Stephenson, Carr, and Carter Hines.
In Game 2, the Mavs led 11-9 in the sixth inning but couldn’t hold on losing 13-12.
Zach Goodwin had two doubles for the Mavs and two runs batted in while Gatlin Goodson had three hits and two runs batted in. Josh Bumgarner and Sam Shank each had a double and three runs batted in.
Blake Hubbard was the starter with relief help from Chase DeFillippo, Luke Livian, Brysen Williams, Jackie Robinson, and Malik Wilson. Robinson suffered the loss allowing three runs in 2.2 innings.
NOC Tonkawa travels to Seminole Saturday for a doubleheader against the Trojans.
