The NOC Mavs split a Thursday doubleheader Thursday with #8 Seminole in Tonkawa.
The Mavs (9-7) lost 22-1 in Game 1 but rallied in Game 2 winning 6-4. The Mavs are 2-2 in conference play.
In Game 2, Shay Cushenbery shut out Seminole over six innings and the Mavs’ five run uprising in the second inning led to the 6-3 win.
Margaret Landes, Karsyn Coleman, and Jasmine Warriner had runs batted in for the Mavs.
Cushenbery struck out four and walked none in six innings of work. Seminole rallied for three runs in the seventh to cut the lead to 6-3.
In Game 1, Lynsey Ailey doubled and scored the only Maverick run in the second inning. Ailey, Molly Myers, and Cushenbery worked in the circle for NOC.
