POTEAU, Oklahoma — The Northern Oklahoma College Mavs earned a split in a series that concluded Sunday at Carl Albert in Poteau, Oklahoma.
The Mavs won the second complete game 6-4 after NOC dropped a 7-5 decision in Game 1. The Mavs also dropped a suspended game from last Thursday 21-4.
NOC (27-19) is not 7-13 in conference play while Carl Albert (22-24) is 12-8 in league action.
In the second game, the Mavs jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held off Carl Albert 6-4.
Barrett Rose, Matt Minyon and Carter Hines had two hits each while Rose added three runs batted in.
Levi Haueter and Bryant Bailey scored two runs each for the Mavs.
Chase DeFillippo was the starter for NOC going 4.2 innings allowing one unearned run. Kirby Lohrengel earned the save with one scoreless inning.
In Game 1, the Mavs rallied from a 6-0 deficit but lost 7-5.
Bryant Bailey hit a fourth inning grand slam while Sam Shank added two hits for NOC.
Blake Hubbard started for NOC with bullpen help from Brysen Williams.
In the suspended game from Thursday, the Mavs lost 21-4.
Shank, Rose, and Holden Bartosovsky had two hits each.
