MENA, Arkansas –The 15th ranked NOC Mavs split a conference twinbill with Rich Mountain (AR) Saturday in Mena, Arkansas.
Bryant Bailey homered in each game of the doubleheader.
The Mavs (24-12) are now 5-7 in conference while Rich Mountain (18-15) improved to 7-5.
In Game 1, the Mavs led 8-5 in the fifth until Rich Mountain scored nine runs in the sixth inning to win 14-8.
Geo Blackshaw and Bryant Bailey had two hits and two runs batted in each. Bailey homered while Blackshaw, Sam Shank, and Levi Haueter each doubled. Holden Bartosovsky and Matt Minyon tripled for NOC.
Chase DeFillippo, Jackie Robinson, and Brysen Williams worked from the mound for NOC.
In Game 2, the Mavs broke open a 5-4 game with seven run over the final two innings to take a 12-4 win.
Haueter, Shank, Bartosovsky, Bailey, and Josh Bumgarner had two hits in a 14 hit attack.
Bumgarner and Bailey had two rbi’s each. Bo Charboneau also homered.
David Carr tossed six solid innings allowing four earned runs on four hits. Clayton Solomon, Eli Cartwright, and Kirby Lohrengal each tossed a scoreless inning of relief.
