Local Elks Lodge announces scholarship contest.

The Ponca City Elks Lodge #2002 is announcing the start of the Elks National Foundation Most
Valuable Student Scholarship Contest. The Most Valuable Student scholarship is available to
high school seniors who are United State citizens. Applicants do not need to be related to a
member of the Elks. Applicants are judged on academics, leadership, service and financial need.

The application is completed online and must be submitted by the November 15, 2021
deadline. There will be Lodge winners and State winners. There will also be 500 National
winners to be announced in April 2022 after the top 20 finalists participate in the Leadership
Weekend and interview for the top awards. The 500 fouryear awards are two $50,000
scholarships, two $40,000 scholarships, two $30,000 scholarships, fourteen $20,000
scholarships, and 480 $4,000 scholarships. These awards are paid over four years.
