Live music starts at the fair tonight

Ponca City Now - September 11, 2014 7:32 am

If you head out to the fair you’ll see crews setting up a stage on the south end of the grounds. This stage will be put to good use starting tonight and throughout the weekend. Fair Director, Jim Menzer said the Northern Oklahoma College Roustabouts will kick-off the live music tonight, then a Ponca City band will hit the stage on Friday.

" Morrison 33 from Ponca City, Bill Wetzel and his band," Menzer said. "Then at 8 it’s Mike Black and the Stingrays out of Oklahoma City. After their show is his Elvis impersonation, which was a real hit last year."

Menzer said Saturday will have a whole different line-up.

"Saturday night we have gospel singers and the Tulsa Playboys," Menzer said. " They’re kind of like Texas Playboys. It’s a group I think of a dozen guys, they’re very entertaining and they’re on stage Saturday night."

The fair board will also hold an auction for the wood carvings done at the fair on Saturday. Also on Saturday and Sunday is the horse show.
