Students at Lincoln Elementary School had a special visit from Emmitt the pig as a part of the celebration of reading “The Adventures of a South Pole Pig.”

The book was selected as this year’s One Book, One District initiative.

The students had fun asking questions about Emmitt. The students learned that Emmitt is three years old and weighs 159 pounds. Ms. Kendrick has had him since he was two months old. He is house trained and lives in the house with her. He sleeps in the closet on his comfy bedding and loves to snuggle. Ms. Kendrick said that his birthday is May 28, and she always puts a party hat on him and takes a picture.

The students loved it when their Assistant Principal Dawn Mills kissed the pig!
