Library helping to ‘Raise the Woof!’

Throughout the month of March, the staff of the Ponca City Library has been helping collect needed items for the Ponca City Humane Society with special programs, scavenger hunts, story times with Bart the Firefighter Dog and other activities.

On Tuesday,  March 28, the library presents “Miles to Get Home: Unwanted to Adoption.” This tells the journey from Animal Control animals at risk to finding a home states away. The program is from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Library Program Room.

On the main floor of the library there is a tent that can be filled with items needed by the Humane Society. Patrons can bring any of these items to add to the tent:

  • 55-gallon trash can liners
  • Gently used towels and blankets
  • Dog food (Purina)
  • 4Health cat/kitten food
  • Dawn dish soap
  • Paper towels
  • Liquid laundry soap
  • Cat and dog toys
  • Bleach
  • Cat litter (non-clumping)

Any other donations not listed may be taken directly to the Humane Society at 900 West Prospect Ave.
