Liberty 4th and 5th grade students participating in Spelling Bee

Ponca City Now - November 20, 2019 5:04 pm

Liberty 4th and 5th grade students will be participating in their first spelling bee this year.

The group has 25 members that will be competing in the spelling bee at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 13 at Liberty Elementary School, 505 West Liberty.

The winner will advance to regionals in late January or early February.

“This is my first year with Ponca City Public Schools, and it’s my understanding that there has not been a spelling bee for a quite some time,” Liberty 5th grade teacher Peggy Refro said. “I am hoping that one of our students can make it to the state spelling bee and then on to nationals.”
