Lake Eufaula boat crash claims one life, injures two others

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) is investigating a boat crash in Pittsburg County that killed one and left two injured.

The incident happened on Sunday at 11:37 pm near Number 9 marina, Longtown area of Lake Eufaula.

Officials said the boat was southbound crossing under the Number 9 bridge and ran aground on the west bank, striking several trees and coming to rest.

According to OHP, the two passengers were ejected from the boat.

Michael Reagan, 25, the driver of a 2019 JBC Express 24-foot open boat, was taken to the hospital and admitted in fair condition with trunk-external and head injuries.

One of the passengers was treated and released from the hospital with a head injury.

OHP said the second passenger was pronounced dead on the scene. He was identified as 25-year-old Charles Gustafson.

Investigators said the driver had an odor of alcohol.
