Kay County Retired Educators to Meet September 9

Mike Seals - August 23, 2020 11:57 pm

The Kay County Retired Educators Association is planning its first meeting of the new membership year for Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 10 a.m.  The meeting will be held on the patio area of the Cann Memorial Gardens at 14th & Grand in Ponca City, directly behind the house.  The meeting will include a light brunch (donations accepted).  Be sure to wear a mask and you may want to bring a lawn chair for seating.

In addition to any business, the program will be meeting Ms. Elsie Cann, a reenactment that will give you the history of the gardens.  The gardens have been exceptionally beautiful this year and it is always a good place to take a nice peaceful stroll, with gazebos, benches and picnic tables.  The house will be unlocked to allow for access to the restroom.  Parking is available adjacent to the house, on the street or across the street at the Presbyterian parking lot.

KCREA is the local affiliate of the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association and membership is open to any certified or support staff in Kay County that have retired from education.

Since the COVID crisis could always change plans at the last minute, you can email [email protected] or call Cindy Watson at 580-763-7192 if you have questions.
