Kansas man drowns in Grant County

A 57-year-old Kansas man drowned shortly after 9 p.m. July 8 southeast of Wakita, OK, in Grant County.

Daniel Martin Smith, of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Waukita Fire Department. His body was transported to the Lanman Funeral Home in Cherokee, OK.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement Division investigated the incident.
