Johnsonville has issued a voluntary recall of its Beddar with Cheddar dinner sausage links after a consumer report of a small, black flexible thread-like material found in a link.
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Johnsonville has issued a voluntary recall of its Beddar with Cheddar dinner sausage links after a consumer report of a small, black flexible thread-like material found in a link.
The affected product was shipped to 10 retailer warehouses in eight states, including Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, and Colorado.
Stores will be removing the affected product from shelves.
Consumers should check to see if their products are impacted.
The product is under recall only if all three of these pieces of information are stamped on the package:
- A “Best By” date of 07/11/2023 followed by the figure “C35” (found on back side of package along zipper closure)
- An “EST 34224” number (found on the package’s front side, lower right corner).
Customers who have impacted products are urged to throw them away.
Officials believe the thread-like material that was found poses a very low risk of adverse health effects if consumed but the company issued the recall out of an abundance of caution.
