Thad Dilbeck (Po-Hi Principal), Jessica Hamlin, and Superintendent Shelley Arrott
The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week Po-Hi Junior Jessica Hamlin.
“Jessica is that steady, dependable, and reliable student,” said Superintendent Shelley Arrott. “Even though she is a quiet person, her orchestra conductor, Paula Cochran, often asks Jessica to help her with tasks because she knows she will never be late and can count on her to take care of anything she needs with the Po-Hi Symphony Strings Orchestra. Jessica has been in orchestra since she was in 5th grade and takes charge of any need with an unassuming attitude.
“Not only is she a talented member of the orchestra, but she is an excellent bowler and is captain of the girls bowling team. Even though she is a quiet person, she actively recruits other young people to participate in the life-long sport of bowling,” Arrott said.
“In addition to staying busy with orchestra and bowling, she is taking concurrent enrollment as a junior to get a head start on furthering her education,” Arrott said.
She plans to obtain a medical degree in psychiatry and hopes to work with incarcerated individuals throughout her career.
“Thank you, Jessica, for doing the right thing without anyone asking you to or when no one is looking. You represent the true definition of integrity, and I am proud you are a Ponca City Wildcat,” Arrott said.
