EDMOND, Okla. (AP) – A Japanese festival is scheduled at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

The two-day festival will be Friday and Saturday in the Nigh University Center on campus. It’s being put on by the university’s Passport UCO program and the Japanese Student Association.

The keynote speaker will be Masao Yokota, a scholar in the field of Japanese and East Asian animation studies. There will also be Japanese performers during the event.

The Passport UCO program was started in 2004 in which a country or region is selected to be celebrated during the fall semester through various events.
