Investigators examining Blackwell crime scene

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Blackwell Police Department, District Attorney’s Task Force and Kay County Sheriff’s Office are all involved in an investigation at the Best Way Inn in Blackwell.

They have been at the scene since 6:30 p.m. Monday, after responding to a call.

The motel is located at the Interstate 35 exit at mile marker 222.

Law enforcement officials responded to a call reporting a man who was found dead in the motel parking lot.

Kay County Undersheriff Sean Grigsba said the OSBI is the lead agency in the investigator. Grigsba said it appears the man had a head trauma, but no other information was available
