I-35 traffic to be diverted near Billings

Team Radio Marketing Group - May 18, 2017 10:06 am

Northbound and southbound I-35 traffic will be diverted to the on- and off-ramps at SH-15 (mile marker 203) near Billings in Noble County from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday for ongoing bridge work.

Motorists should expect delays and traffic congestion during this time as traffic exits and immediately re-enters the interstate.

The SH-15 bridge over I-35 remains closed through summer 2017 for bridge reconstruction. SH-15 traffic is detoured to SH-74, US-412, US-77 and US-60.

Additionally, I-35 remains narrowed to one lane in each direction at Fountain Road (mile marker 211) near Tonkawa in Kay County and the Fountain Road bridge over I-35 is closed through early fall for bridge reconstruction. I-35 remains inaccessible from Fountain Road during this time.

In September, the Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded an $8.8 million contract for this work to OBC Inc. of Edmond. The contract also includes replacement of the Bender Road bridge over I-35 in Kay County, with reconstruction anticipated to start this summer.
