Humphreys reappointed to charter school board

OKLAHOMA CITY – At a special meeting of the board Monday night, Kirk Humphreys was reappointed to the John Rex Charter Elementary School Board.

He was seated as a voting board member by Oklahoma City Quality Schools, a nonprofit with six voting members.

They unanimously appointed him to fill the remaining term of Lyndon Taylor, a member who resigned in April. That term expires in 2019.

“I think we made the best possible decision that was available to the board on this issue,” said Vice Chairman Phil Horning, who will succeed Humphreys as chairman. “I realize some will agree, some will disagree and most will be somewhere in between.”
