How to apply for unemployment claims in face of COVID-19

COVID-19 Message

.Due to the impact that the coronavirus (COVID-19) is having on the our nation, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC) is taking actions to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus in Oklahoma by closing OESC’s State Administrative Offices and Local Oklahoma Works American Job Centers. OESC is working with Federal and State Officials on continuing efforts for Unemployment Insurance Program to continue to meet the basic needs of life and to continue to help stimulate Oklahoma’s economy. OESC will provide information to all customers as the agency is informed by Federal and State authorities

Office Closures:

Beginning 3-16-2020, all OESC State Administrative Offices and Local Oklahoma Works American Job Centers will be closed to the public. Please use the following information if you need to contact an agency representative.

Claimants or Job Seekers: 

  • If you need to file a claim, go to https://unemployment.state.ok.us
  • If you need to speak to an unemployment claim representative call 1-800-555-1554
  • Good News! Governor Stitt has amended Executive Order 2020-07 to include suspension of the required one week waiting period in order for unemployment insurance benefits to be paid to qualified claimants
  • If you need to register for work, go to https://okjobmatch.com
  • If you need to report to an office and show identification, you must fax a copy of two forms of identification, one of which must be a photo-ID to 405-962-7524 or mail them to:

  • All group sessions have been cancelled for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. If you were previously scheduled for a group session, you no longer need to report to the job center.
  • If you have a question regarding a questionnaire you received, call the number listed on the questionnaire

  • If you have a question about responding to or protesting an unemployment benefit claim, call 405-552-6799 and follow the prompts
