Homicide investigators probe death of man in bookstore
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Oklahoma City police say a bookstore owner was found dead underneath a pile of books in his burning store and the death is being investigated as a homicide.
Firefighters found the body of 66-year-old Kelly Anthony Hays on Thursday after extinguishing the blaze at 30 Penn Books.
Police have not said how he died, but said he suffered injuries that appeared to have been caused before the fire, and arson investigators say the fire was intentionally set.
Authorities say Hays was found about 20 feet from the front door of the bookstore. Nearby businesses were evacuated, but the fire was contained to the store.
Police said Friday that there have been no arrests.
