High number of fraudulent ATM withdrawals reported

Ponca City Now - August 21, 2019 9:32 am

Over the last few days, the Ponca City Police Department has taken an unusually high number of reports from citizens who have had fraudulent ATM withdrawals or attempts at fraudulent ATM withdrawals using compromised debit card information.

Police Chief Don Bohon said detectives have not yet identified a common denominator on where or how the cards’ information was compromised.

Victims are customers of several different banks, and the attempted use of the card  information has been occurring outside of Ponca City.

“We want to remind everyone to be vigilant in monitoring your accounts, and immediately report any fraudulent activity to the Police and your bank, so proper steps can be taken to secure your account,” Bohon said.
